LeRoy Neiman - "Summertime Along Indiana Dunes"

Overview:

Lora D. Art Gallery acquired the rights to sell this very large piece by LeRoy Neiman (eight 8'x8' panels). Due to the monumental size of the piece, the target buyers were banks and large corporations with spacious lobbies.

Challenge:

How to clearly showcase this very wide work in a highly sophisticated manner to attract the upper echelon clientele needed to purchase a piece of this nature.

Solution:

A bi-fold design allowed for a standard finished size while providing for a reasonably large photo of the work to be displayed on the inside. The stock was very thick with a matte finish to keep the white of the paper and the copy very soft and subtle. Spot varnishes hit just the two photos of the work giving them extra vibrance and pop.

Geri Emalfarb

Overview:

Geri Emalfarb is a Baird & Warner real estate agent for Chicago's North Shore. She wanted a brochure to give to prospective clients that had more information and background than anything that B&W provided.

Challenge:

Geri wanted a very sophisticated design that she could use for a long time but would also evolve with her as she progressed in her career.

Solution:

A basic bi-fold design was expanded upon by adding a fourth panel. The panel was die-cut into a tab that inserted through a slit in the second panel that allowed the brochure to "lock." A pocket with six step-down tabs gave Geri the freedom to update general information as she needed without printing the whole brochure over again.

Tara Designer Homes

Overview:

Tara Designer Homes creates some of the finest luxury homes on Chicago's North Shore. Tara needed a brochure to leave at show houses and to give to prospective clients.

Challenge:

Tara wanted to maximize the number of photos and let them tell Tara's story. Tara's iconic lion logo had to also play an important role.

Solution:

The entire inside of the brochure was dedicated to photos of interiors, with only slight branding at the top and bottom. The front page has a very large imprint of the Tara lion and small branding at the bottom. Varnish was applied to only inked areas to keep the matte white stock soft.

Chatham Executive Building

Overview:

The Chatham Executive Building, developed by CHL Properties, was a rehabbed office building, which adhered to LEED standards of "green" construction. CHL needed a banner to display during construction to advertise the new LEED certified building.

Challenge:

Even though the banner was 4'x12,' it had to be easily seen from a good distance hanging from a second story scaffold.

Solution:

The main focus was placed on anything commenting on the "green" nature of the building, as well as a rendering of the future design.

The Entrepreneur's Source

Overview:

The Entrepreneur's Source offers small businesses and franchisees help and resources for getting their businesses off the ground. E-Source holds an annual convention in Chicago for clients to visit and learn how E-Source can benefit their businesses.

Challenge:

E-Source needed a full page and insert ad to invite prospective clients to the convention. The pieces needed to attract people who were frustrated with their current employment situations.

Solution:

Stock photography of upset, depressed and aggravated people were selected to empathize with prospective clients. The ads have been used for the past two conventions with pertinent information updated yearly.
